Dr.S.Rajesh – Professor and Head
Dr.S.Rajesh has obtained Ph.D in physics from Bharathiar University in the field of thin film solar cells in the year 2002. Has research experience in the fields of thin films and nanomaterials. He has filed patent for his projects. He has guided several Ph.D, M.Tech and M.Sc projects. Has research collaboration with international and national universities. Norweign technical university and Bergen University are the few to name. He has much number of international high impact journal publications and conference proceedings to his credit. He has presented several research papers in international and national conferences in and abroad. He also has the teaching experiences in the various departments like Electronics and Instrumentation, Nanoscience and Technology and Electronics and communications apart from Physics. He is also a member in various academic committees of the university. More
Dr.D.Khanna - Assistant Professor
Dr.D.Khanna joined Department of Applied Physics in Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences in the year 2009. He joined for his doctorate degree in Department of Physics, Bharathiar University soon after he completed masters in physics from the same department in the year 2003. He completed his doctorate in Environmental Radiation Physics in the year 2009. He was studying about the sources and causes of natural background radiation in and around Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant site for his work. His current research interests include studying the behaviour of naturally occurring radionuclides and anthropogenic radionuclides in the environment and polymers for electrolytes and radiation protection. He is guiding many research scholars in the field of radiation physics. More
Dr.B.Vidhya – Assistant Professor
Dr. B. Vidhya joined Department of Applied Physics in Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences in the year 2011. She completed her doctorate in science with specialization in electrical engineering - solid state electronics from the Centre for Investigation and Advanced Studies of National Polytechnique Institute (CINVESTAV-IPN). For her doctoral thesis she worked on the synthesis of CuInGaSe2 nanoparticles by ball milling and deposition of the same for solar cell fabrication. Her research areas include thin films, nanoparticles-synthesis and characterization, solar cells. She has guided many research scholars in the Photocatalitic field. She has funded projects and also filed patents of her project works. She has significant number of publications in reputed journals. More

Dr. A. Sakunthala – Assistant Professor
Dr.A.Sakunthala joined Department of Applied Physics in Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences in the year 2012. She completed her doctorate in physics (Area of specialization: solid state ionics) in 2010 from Bharathiar University, Tamilnadu, India. With her doctoral thesis, she studied the electrochemical performance of manganese and vanadium based cathode materials for lithium ion battery. During her PhD period, she visited Advanced Batteries Lab, National University of Singapore, Singapore, for six months. Presently she is actively involved in teaching, non-academic and research activities. She is a NSS programme officer in Karunya University. She has completed research projects funded by Department of Atomic Energy – Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences and Department of Science and Technology. She has guided many research scholars and M.Sc students. She has funded projects and filed patents for her research works. She has large number of publications in high impact factor international journals. More

He has 16 years of experience as a technician in Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences. He is well experienced in maintaining the lab instruments in perfect working conditions. He is a trained technician to handle electronics equipment.
