Department of Library and Information Science

The well-established central library became a research department offering M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes since 2013. The aspirants with a Masters degree in Library and Information Science are eligible to pursue their research under experienced faculty members. The department has sufficient print and electronic resources, online databases such as scopus and web of science and necessary software available for all the areas of research in Library and Information science. The focus areas of research are User Studies/Education, Information Seeking Behaviour, Digital Libraries, Knowledge Management, Library Marketing, Library Automation and Networking, Corporate Libraries and Metric Studies.

ELIGIBILITY

a) Master’s degree of any recognized university or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in the fields of study notified from time to time by KITS.

b) Minimum eligibility is 60% marks or equivalent CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average). However, 5% relaxation is given to the candidates belonging to scheduled caste / scheduled tribe.
